Job Description : GM MINES SIERRA LEONE Arima Minerals & Metals is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager Mining Operations to lead and oversee its mining operations in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in open-pit mining, mine planning, production, equipment management, safety, and team leadership. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient mining operations while achieving production, safety, quality, and cost objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage end-to-end mining operations, ensuring safe and efficient production. Develop and implement mine plans to achieve production targets. Monitor daily mining activities, equipment utilization, and operational performance. Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Manage mine budgets, operational costs, and productivity improvements. Coordinate with geology, processing, maintenance, and logistics teams. Implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) best practices across the mine. Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams. Prepare operational reports and present performance updates to senior management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize operational efficiency. Liaise with government authorities, contractors, and local stakeholders when required Preferred candidate profile Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree is an added advantage. Minimum 15 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role. Strong knowledge of open-pit mining operations, mine planning, drilling, blasting, and production management. Experience managing large mining teams and heavy mining equipment.
