Job Description : Head of Agricultural Export (Multi-Commodity) TANZANIA Position Summary: This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving export strategy, commodity procurement, and international market expansion. The position manages supply chains, regulatory compliance, and responsible for profit-and-loss (P&L) for crops like cashews, Green Coffee, and Tobacco. In this role, the Head of Agri Export will take full strategic and operational leadership of our client's international trading division. Will manage the entire commercial pipeline from structuring local procurement networks in the interior highlands and coastal regions to navigating regulatory frameworks and managing shipping logistics at the Port of Dar es Salaam. Must be a dynamic team leader with exceptional capabilities in handling multi-cultural teams including both locals and expats while leading from the front. Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (With frequent travel to regional crop belts) Company: Growing Mid-Market Agribusiness / SME Export House Reporting To: Managing Director Core Portfolio: Tobacco, Cashew Nuts, and Green Coffee Key Responsibilities: · Export Strategy: Design and execute profitable export plans targeting international buyers and global commodity markets. · Procurement & Supply Chain: Oversee local sourcing, warehouse operations, and inland logistics across Tanzania. · Quality & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to international food safety standards, phytosanitary regulations and export customs clearance documentation. · Commercial Negotiations: Manage pricing models, B2B contracts, and relationships with global buyers, shipping lines, and local authorities. · Team Leadership: Manage local operations teams, budgets, and take full P&L accountability for the export unit. Requirements & Qualifications: · Experience: 15 to 18 years in senior agribusiness or agri-commodity export company in Tanzania or East Africa · African Market Domain: Minimum 5 years of senior level working experience in East Africa (Tanzania work experience is highly preferred). Deep understanding of local agricultural markets and regulatory crop boards. · Education: Masters degree in Agriculture. Additional qualifications in Export-Import (EXIM) management are highly advantageous. · Skills: Expert contract negotiator with proven capability in leading multi-cultural teams across corporate city offices and rural farmlands. · Languages: Professional fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory; conversational Swahili is highly advantageous. · Mobility: Must have the requisite domestic clearances to relocate to Tanzania and be fully willing to travel frequently across challenging, rural field conditions. · Salary : USD 3,500 to USD 4,000 per month + Single/Bachelor Furnished Accommodation + Local Conveyance
