Job Description : TRADING MANAGER RETAIL SURINAME This is an exciting opportunity to lead the commercial strategy across key product categories, driving sales growth, profitability, and an exceptional customer shopping experience. You will oversee assortment planning, pricing and promotional strategies, supplier partnerships, and merchandising excellence while leading a high-performing Buying team. Working closely with Retail Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance, you will leverage customer insights and market trends to optimize category performance and accelerate business growth. Develop and execute category, pricing, promotion, and assortment strategies to drive sales and profitability. Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and joint business planning with existing and new brands. Optimize store layout, merchandising, and customer experience using sales and shopper insights. Monitor category performance, inventory, margins, and promotional ROI to identify growth opportunities. Lead and develop a Buying team of approximately 20 people while collaborating closely with Retail Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance. 8+ years' experience in Category Management, Buying, Trading, or Commercial roles within Retail, Health & Beauty, Pharmacy, or FMCG. Strong commercial acumen in assortment, pricing, promotions, and supplier management. Experience leading medium to large teams. Analytical, customer-focused, and strong stakeholder management skills.
