Job Description : HEAD OF MINING OPERATIONS / LOCATION HEAD WEST AFRICA A leading cement and mining organization is looking for an experienced senior professional to lead its limestone and quarry operations. Industry: Cement / Mining / Quarry Operations Experience: Minimum 18 Years Eligibility: Indian Nationals Only Qualification: B.Sc in Mining /BE Mining/ Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from a reputed university Compensation: Attractive remuneration and benefits as per industry standards KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead end-to-end mining and quarry operations, including limestone and shale mines, crusher and LBC operations. • Drive short-term and long-term production planning to achieve targeted volume, quality and supply requirements. • Ensure mining operations comply with approved mining plans and applicable IBM/DGMS requirements. • Optimize equipment utilization, fleet management, preventive and predictive maintenance, and overall mine productivity. • Lead quarry expansion, mine development, benching, overburden removal and infrastructure development projects. • Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, cost optimization and operational efficiency. • Drive statutory compliance, environmental sustainability, mine rehabilitation, forest conservation and decarbonization initiatives. • Identify opportunities for advanced mining technologies, digital mine monitoring, GPS fleet management and automated quarry operations. • Manage EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, consultants and other external stakeholders. • Develop strong relationships with government authorities, local communities, landowners, local bodies and other regulatory stakeholders. • Provide overall functional coordination with HR, Administration, Finance, IT, CSR, Environment & Forest and Security functions at the quarry. • Lead manpower planning for employees and contractors and ensure adequate workforce availability. • Maintain high standards of Health, Safety & Environment across all mining operations. • Drive the quarry towards becoming a model/top-ranking mine in the North East/India. CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate should have strong leadership experience in large-scale mining/quarry operations, preferably in limestone mining and cement-linked mining operations. Strong exposure to mining planning, statutory compliance, quarry expansion, equipment management, CAPEX, HSE, stakeholder management and local/community coordination is essential. Candidates should possess excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, planning and problem-solving skills, along with high integrity, resilience and a strong result-oriented approach.
