Job Description : Mine operations manager Zimbabwe Lead and oversee the complete mining operations of the company's lithium mine in Guruve, Zimbabwe. Act as the owner's representative on-site, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations through effective coordination with mining contractors, local partners, government authorities, and the corporate management team. Key Responsibilities Mine Operations Manage day-to-day mining operations through appointed mining contractors. Ensure achievement of daily, weekly and monthly production targets. Monitor mining progress, ore quality, stripping ratio and productivity. Review daily production reports and submit MIS to management. Ensure optimum utilization of mining fleet and resources. Contractor Management Lead and monitor EPC/mining contractors. Review contractor performance against agreed KPIs. Resolve operational bottlenecks and ensure timely execution. Verify production measurements and contractor billing. Local Operations & Stakeholder Management Represent the company at the mine site. Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, communities and government authorities. Coordinate with Zimbabwe mining authorities for operational compliance. Handle local administrative and statutory matters. Production & Planning Prepare daily production dashboards. Track ore dispatch, ROM inventory and mine development. Coordinate with geology and mine planning teams. Highlight operational risks and recommend corrective actions. HSE & Compliance Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards. Drive a strong safety culture across contractors. Ensure environmental and statutory compliance. Cost & Performance Monitor operational costs and identify improvement opportunities. Improve productivity through better contractor and equipment utilization. Support budgeting and operational planning. Leadership Lead local operational teams. Develop strong coordination between contractors, geology, maintenance and management. Build a disciplined reporting culture. Desired Candidate Profile B.E./B.Tech in Mining Engineering. 8 to 10 years of mining operations experience. Experience in open-pit hard rock mining (Lithium, Copper, Gold, Nickel, Iron Ore or similar minerals). Experience managing outsourced mining contractors. Prior international mining experience, preferably in Africa (Zimbabwe/Tanzania/Zambia/Namibia/Mozambique). Strong stakeholder management with local authorities and government agencies. Excellent operational reporting and production management skills. Ability to work independently in remote mining locations.
