Job Description : AVP – Engineering & Projects | Energy & Fuel Retail Sector Location: Mumbai (Head Office) | Extensive Travel Across Africa** Our client, a leading energy and fuel retail conglomerate with operations across Africa, is seeking an accomplished Assistant Vice President – Engineering & Projects to drive engineering strategy, project execution, and operational excellence across multiple markets. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead engineering and project execution functions across Africa, spanning planning, design, value engineering, budgeting, tendering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover - Establish engineering standards, governance frameworks, SOPs, and best practices across the project lifecycle - Manage multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Projects, Procurement, Contracts, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, and Commercial functions - Oversee diverse project portfolios including fuel retail stations, petroleum terminals, LPG facilities, pipelines, and industrial infrastructure - Lead contractor negotiations, technical evaluations, contract administration, cost optimization, and CAPEX management - Ensure safe, on-time, on-budget project delivery in compliance with international standards **Candidate Profile** - Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering - Experience: 20–25 years in relevant domains, including: - Fuel stations and network expansion - Petroleum depots and fuel terminals - LPG terminals and bottling plants - Pipeline and industrial infrastructure projects - EPC, project portfolio management, and CAPEX projects - Tendering, contracts, procurement, and cost control - Engineering leadership, HSE, QA/QC, and commissioning - Prior Africa project exposure strongly preferred
