Job Description : Workshop Manager (Heavy Commercial Fleet) Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Employment Type: Full-Time | Senior Management About Us Kanan Services Ltd is a market leader in the supply and distribution of essential building materials—specializing in cement, structural steel, and corrugated iron sheets. Operating as an integrated supply-chain powerhouse, our business footprint spans material trading, household plastics manufacturing, industrial plastic waste recycling, and commercial metal scrap trading. To support our operations and growing commercial fleet of 75+ light, medium, and heavy-duty commercial trucks (spanning Japanese, European, and Chinese prime movers and trailer configurations), we are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Workshop Manager to lead our maintenance and technical operations. Position Overview The Workshop Manager will oversee the end-to-end management of our central commercial workshop. You will be responsible for fleet availability, preventive maintenance schedules, turnaround times, workshop personnel leadership, and technical compliance across multi-brand assets, utilizing our integrated Transport Management System (TMS) to drive digital workflows. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification. Experience: 8+ years of active workshop experience in heavy commercial transport/logistics, with at least 1 – 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. TMS Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with a Transport Management System (TMS) or dedicated Fleet Maintenance Management Software (FMMS/ERP). Brand Expertise: Proven technical proficiency managing multi-brand fleets (e.g., Scania, Isuzu, Howo, Mitsubishi). Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of heavy vehicle suspension, air-brake systems, transmissions, diagnostics, and trailer fabrication/bodywork. Skills: Strong leadership, analytical problem-solving, structured reporting, and clear cross-functional communication with procurement and operations.
