Job Description : Mechanical superintendent(Mill house) from sugar industry Africa Uganda kampala Job Description – Mechanical superintendent (Mill house)-sugar industry Location: Uganda Position: Mechanical Superintendent – Mill House Industry: Sugar Manufacturing Experience: 10+ Years Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering Nationality: Open (Experience in reputed sugar mills preferred) Key Responsibilities Supervise the mechanical maintenance activities of the Mill House. Perform troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Monitor and support Mill DCS operations for smooth process performance. Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. Ensure efficient operation and maintenance of: Cane Carrier Fibrizer Leveller Mill Tandem Juice Screens Bagasse Carrier Gearboxes Couplings Conveyors Coordinate with production teams to improve: Cane preparation index Juice extraction efficiency Crushing rate stability Overall mill performance Lead mechanical maintenance shutdowns and annual overhauls. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance SOPs. Maintain maintenance records, breakdown analysis, and spare parts planning. Guide and supervise technicians and fitters during maintenance activities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency. Required Skills Strong knowledge of Mill House equipment maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems DCS monitoring and process coordination Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Breakdown Maintenance Rotating Equipment Maintenance Gearbox & Conveyor Maintenance Team Leadership SAP/CMMS (Preferred) Safety Management Mandatory Requirements 10+ years of experience in Sugar Mill House Mechanical Maintenance. Hands-on experience with Cane Carrier, Fibrizer, Leveller, Mill Tandem, Conveyors, Gearboxes, and Hydraulic Systems. Experience in preventive maintenance and shutdown planning. Strong troubleshooting and leadership skills. Willingness to relocate to Uganda.
