Job Description : HEAD OF LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN GREENLAND HARDSHIP POSITION Open to International candidates with 20-25 years experience, mining experience preferred leads the end-to-end movement of heavy equipment, raw materials, and extracted minerals from remote sites to global markets. Role Overview • Position: Head of Logistics and Supply Chain (Mining Industry) • Reports To: Vice President of Operations or Chief Operating Officer (COO) • Location Focus: Remote mine sites, processing plants, and export hubs Key Responsibilities • Strategic Planning: Design and execute end-to-end supply chain strategies tailored to heavy industrial and remote mining environments. • Bulk Transportation Management: Oversee complex multi-modal transport networks (heavy haulage trucks, rail, maritime shipping, and slurry pipelines) for bulk commodities. • Procurement & Vendor Management: Direct sourcing strategies for critical mining consumables, heavy machinery, spare parts, and fuel contracts. • Inventory & Warehouse Control: Optimize stock levels of high-value replacement parts and maintenance supplies to prevent costly mine shutdowns while avoiding overstock • Compliance & Safety (EHS): Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, safety, and cross-border customs/mining licensing regulations. • Risk & Contingency Planning: Mitigate supply chain disruptions caused by weather, remote geography, political shifts, or equipment failure. Qualifications and Requirements • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Mining/Industrial Engineering. Master's degree or MBA preferred. • Experience: 10+ years in supply chain leadership, with at least 5 years specifically within heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, or large-scale bulk commodities. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in enterprise resource planning systems (SAP, Oracle) and specialized transport/warehouse management software. • Core Competencies: Exceptional contract negotiation, crisis management, cross-functional leadership, and remote-site operational capability.
