Job Description : Chief Operating Officer (COO) | Integrated Steel & Manufacturing | ???? Addis Ababa, Ethiopia We are seeking an accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strategic leadership across a rapidly expanding integrated steel manufacturing business with 1,000+ employees operating in a unionized environment. Key skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline; an MBA/postgraduate qualification is an advantage. • 15+ years of progressive experience, including 10+ years in senior/executive leadership, within heavy manufacturing, steel, metallurgy or a comparable industrial environment. • Strong technical and operational understanding of steelmaking, induction furnaces, continuous casting and rolling processes, with exposure to wire products, DRI, mining or other upstream/downstream integration highly desirable • Proven leadership of large-scale, multi-functional operations, including supply chain and corporate functions, with experience managing unionized workforces and industrial relations. • Demonstrated experience partnering with Boards and C-suite leadership on strategic planning, CapEx, investments, risk and business transformation.
