Job Description : Lead Security Copper Mining Business Location DR Congo Industry Mining / Metals / Natural Resources Qualification Defence background mandatory – Only retired Army officers of Colonel rank Experience 25–30+ years of overall experience with strong corporate security leadership exposure Must have handled security operations for large mining projects/sites Age Criteria Up to 52 years Role Overview We are looking for a seasoned security professional from the Indian Army (Colonel rank only) with extensive experience in corporate and mining security operations. The incumbent will lead and manage end-to-end security strategy for large-scale metal mining operations, ensuring protection of manpower, assets, infrastructure, minerals, and operational continuity across business locations in Nigeria. The candidate should possess strong expertise in industrial security, mine security management, crisis handling, intelligence coordination, risk mitigation, and liaison with government and law enforcement agencies. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for mining operations and corporate offices • Lead overall security management for large mining sites including Iron Ore, Copper, Gold, Bauxite, or related metal mining operations • Ensure protection of company assets, explosives, mineral stockyards, heavy equipment, and workforce • Establish robust surveillance, access control, emergency response, and incident management systems • Conduct threat assessments, risk analysis, and security audits across all operational locations • Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies, military authorities, government bodies, and private security agencies • Handle crisis situations including theft, illegal mining activities, labour unrest, sabotage, and external threats • Develop SOPs, security protocols, evacuation procedures, and business continuity plans • Lead investigation processes related to security breaches and operational incidents • Monitor compliance with local regulations, HSE standards, and corporate governance policies • Train and mentor security teams to maintain high operational discipline and readiness • Drive intelligence gathering and preventive security measures for smooth mining operations • Support senior management with strategic security planning and periodic reporting Desired Candidate Profile • Retired Indian Army officer with Colonel rank mandatory • Strong exposure to corporate security leadership roles post-retirement • Prior experience in mining, metals, infrastructure, heavy engineering, or large industrial projects preferred • Proven experience handling security for large mines and remote operational sites • Strong leadership, crisis management, and stakeholder management skills • Experience working in Africa or other international locations will be an added advantage • Excellent communication, administration, and team management capabilities • Physically fit and willing to travel to mining sites as required
