Job Description : Deputy HOD Internal Audit Location: Lagos, Nigeria Work Mode: 100% On-Site Experience: 15+ Years Industry: Manufacturing / Oil & Gas preferred Travel: Flexible to travel as required Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Deputy HOD – Internal Audit with 15+ years of strong experience in Core Internal Audit. Candidates with substantial experience in the Manufacturing and Oil & Gas industries will be highly preferred. The role will be responsible for leading and overseeing process-based, operational and risk-based Internal Audit activities across the organization. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on exposure to P2P, O2C, R2R and end-to-end process audits, along with experience managing audit teams and working with senior management. This is a 100% on-site position in Lagos, Nigeria, and the candidate must be willing to relocate and travel to various business, plant and project locations as required. Key Responsibilities • Support the HOD – Internal Audit in developing and executing the organization's Internal Audit strategy and annual audit plan. • Lead and oversee end-to-end process-based and risk-based Internal Audit assignments. • Conduct and review P2P (Procure-to-Pay) audits, including procurement, vendor management, purchasing, GRN, invoice processing and payments. • Conduct and review O2C (Order-to-Cash) audits, including order management, billing, collections, credit control and revenue processes. • Conduct and review R2R (Record-to-Report) audits, including accounting processes, reconciliations, journal entries, financial closing and reporting controls. • Oversee operational, plant and factory audits, particularly within manufacturing environments. • Evaluate internal controls, identify process gaps and assess operational and business risks. • Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, potential fraud risks and opportunities for process improvement. • Review and finalize Internal Audit reports, including observations, root causes, risks and recommendations. • Present significant audit findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders. • Monitor and follow up on implementation of agreed management action plans. • Guide, supervise and mentor the Internal Audit team to ensure quality and timely completion of assignments. • Ensure consistency and quality of audit methodologies, documentation and reporting. • Work closely with business and functional heads to strengthen internal controls and improve processes. • Undertake special audits, investigations and management-requested reviews when required. • Travel to plants, factories, project sites and other business locations as required. • Required Experience & Qualifications • 15+ years of relevant experience in Core Internal Audit. • Strong experience in Process Audit, Process-Based Audit and Operational Audit. • Hands-on experience in P2P, O2C and R2R audits. • Experience in Manufacturing and/or Oil & Gas industries is highly preferred. • Strong understanding of Internal Controls, Risk Management, Audit Methodology and Process Improvement. • Experience leading or managing Internal Audit teams. • Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing capabilities. • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. • Ability to independently manage complex audit assignments from planning through reporting and follow-up. • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively based on business requirements. • Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a senior, hands-on Core Internal Audit professional with strong exposure to: Process-Based Audit | P2P Audit | O2C Audit | R2R Audit | Operational Audit | Plant & Factory Audit | Internal Controls | Risk-Based Audit Candidates from Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Heavy Engineering, Metals & Mining or other process-intensive industries will be preferred.
