SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTOR

Job Description : SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTOR PORTUGAL A leading industrial company with an international presence and several production units is seeking a Supply Chain Director to lead the strategy and integrated management of the global supply chain. This role will be responsible for coordinating the areas of Purchasing, Warehousing, Logistics, Transportation, and Internal Material Flows, ensuring material availability, cost optimization, and continuous process improvement throughout the supply chain. Main responsibilities Define and implement the overall Supply Chain strategy, aligned with the organization's objectives. To ensure the harmonization of processes, procedures, and performance indicators among the different units. Lead the areas of Purchasing, Logistics, and Warehouse Management. To ensure efficient stock management, promoting adequate inventory levels and reducing surplus and obsolescence. Manage relationships with strategic suppliers and mitigate supply risks. Coordinate national and international transport operations, ensuring high service levels and cost optimization. Actively participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, production, and supply. Supporting projects for launching new products and transferring production between units. To promote initiatives for continuous improvement, digitization, and automation of logistics processes. Manage the department's budget and identify opportunities to improve financial performance. Develop and lead multidisciplinary teams, promoting a culture of operational excellence. Desired profile Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, Economics, Supply Chain or similar field. Solid experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing and/or Logistics roles in an industrial environment. Prior experience in leadership roles, preferably in multinational or multi-site contexts. Solid knowledge of inventory management, supply planning, logistics and transportation. Experience using ERP systems and data analysis tools. Strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Analytical profile, results-oriented and problem-solving skilled.
