MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Job Description : MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE MANAGER EAST AFRICA 15+ years experience Develop and implement mechanical maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability, plant availability, and operational efficiency. Manage preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of equipment across Cold Rolling Mill (CRM), Metal Coating Line (MCL), and Colour Coating Line (CCL). Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime. Plan and execute routine maintenance, major shutdowns, equipment overhauling, and asset renewal. Monitor maintenance budgets, control costs, optimize spare parts inventory, and ensure timely procurement of critical spares. Coordinate with production, quality, EHS, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth plant operations. Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, environmental regulations, and maintenance procedures. Manage maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors while ensuring quality of work and timely execution. Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, equipment history, and compliance with ERP/Navision processes. Desired Technical Exposure Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of Cold Rolling Mills (CRM), Metal Coating Lines (MCL), Colour Coating Lines (CCL), or similar steel processing lines. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, rollers, conveyors, and other industrial mechanical equipment. Experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown analysis, shutdown planning, equipment reliability, and maintenance cost control. Understanding of spare parts management, maintenance planning, contractor management, EHS practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
