Job Description : Chief Operating Officer (COO) – API & Formulations Business Location: Hyderabad Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company: Reputed Pharmaceutical Company Job Description We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the API and Formulations business for a reputed pharmaceutical company based in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate should hold an M.Sc. / M.Pharm. / M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, along with an MBA, and possess a minimum of 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with comprehensive leadership exposure across both API and Formulations manufacturing operations. Candidates must have spent at least the last 5 years in a COO-level role, demonstrating exceptional expertise in business operations, strategic planning, manufacturing excellence, operational efficiency, and business growth. The COO will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end operations across API and Formulations manufacturing facilities, driving production efficiency, quality, regulatory compliance, supply chain management, and cost optimization. The role involves developing and executing business strategies, improving operational performance, ensuring compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The incumbent will also lead senior management teams, optimize resource utilization, improve productivity and profitability, manage operational budgets, and ensure alignment between business objectives and operational execution.The candidate should have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale pharmaceutical operations, leading multiple manufacturing units, driving organizational transformation, and delivering sustainable business growth. Candidate Profile Qualification: M.Sc. / M.Pharm. / M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, along with an MBA.Experience: Minimum 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry.Leadership Experience: At least 5 years in a COO-level position.Industry Exposure: Strong experience across both API and Formulations businesses.Core Competencies: Strategic business leadership, manufacturing operations, P&L management, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, cost optimisation, and business growth.
