PORT AND RAIL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Job Description : PORT AND RAIL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR GUINEA a major player in the mining sector in Guinea. As part of strengthening its operations and export logistics chain, it is recruiting a Director of Port & Rail Operations. Job Description Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for all rail and port activities related to the transport and export of bauxite. You will ensure safety, operational performance, the availability of infrastructure and equipment, and cost control. Your main responsibilities will include: To manage railway operations, from the transport of bauxite from the mine to the port, ensuring the reliability and availability of equipment and infrastructure; Supervise port operations: receiving, storing, handling and loading bauxite; Optimize the availability and use of equipment in order to achieve production and export objectives; Define and monitor operational KPIs, drive continuous improvement and optimize operating costs; Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental and regulatory standards; Develop and manage the budget for port and rail operations; Manage and develop the teams under your responsibility by establishing a culture of safety, performance and accountability; Ensure coordination with the various internal functions as well as with the authorities, Customs, shipping companies and external service providers. The Successful Applicant With a higher education degree in logistics, transport, mining, industrial engineering, or a related field, you have at least 10 years of experience in rail and/or port operations, including at least 5 years in a management or executive role. Experience in the mining sector, heavy infrastructure, or bulk logistics is highly valued. You are proficient in operational performance, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), and budget management. A proven manager, you combine leadership, rigor, decisiveness, and a results-oriented approach, and you know how to unite multidisciplinary teams in a demanding and multicultural environment.
