Operations Manager

Job Description : OPERATIONS MANAGER ABU DHABI, UAE The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating functions of a company on daily basis ensuring that clients production schedules are met and shipments to customers are completed on time. To attain this goal the Operations Manager has to formulate policies, manage daily operations, and monitor the use of materials and facilities as well as human personnel to make the company grow and maximize profits. Establish priorities and effectively manage team’s time to complete duties/projects within required time; Coordinate production activity in order to meet safety, quality criteria and productivity across the production floor; Increase the level of health and safety throughout the plant by conducting safety audits and promoting safety work; Responsible for managing every aspect regarding productivity for the different production departments of assembly by: Respecting the established cycle time Improving the TLBO (Team Leader Based Organization) approach to increase efficiency regarding standard work, problem solving, etc. Supporting the growth of business Responsible for managing every aspect regarding productivity and shipping by respecting the established processes in all areas and improving the material flow throughout the plant; Establish a solid plan to reduce on a constant basis the amount of raw material; Implement ISO 9001 and 14001 process in all activities/duties carried out; Actively participate as member of Safety Committee and provide resources to implement and sustain health & safety activities; Conduct thorough review of manpower resources on a weekly basis in order to ensure meeting the production schedules established; Lead the TLBO (Team Leader Based Organization) management system i.e. creating/updating standard agendas, creating/updating Job Instructions, creating/updating Job Breakdown Sheets, creating/updating standard work, developing needed training tools, etc.… Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related discipline PMP, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred 10 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing setting, and has to be certified in Pyrotechnics, Explosive or related field to handle dangerous pyrotechnics materials & Chemicals. Two years leadership experience in a manufacturing work environment. Black Belt Certification (Preferred), solid statistical analysis and problem-solving skills. Experienced start-up of new activity/projects/process/product within a manufacturing environment. Preferably will have experience in defense, specifically in a metal/plastic high-tech assembly. Ideally will have training in modern manufacturing & quality approaches (e.g. Kaizen, 6S).
