8 yearsJob Description : COMMERCIAL PLANNING MANAGER DUBAI DP WORLD This role supports DP World’s corporate engagement with liner customers, working with the General Manager - Commercial Planning and Carrier Point Persons (CPPs), the role contributes to strategic development and tactical delivery, of commercial outcomes specifically from 12 largest shipping lines (Tier 1 customers). The Manager - Commercial Planning will to allow CPPs of Tier 1 customers to effectively manage the relationship with carrier and free up CPPs from analytical and non-client facing tasks, primarily associated with bringing together inputs from regions/CPPs and vide own analysis to influence commercial outcomes. The role is expected to contribute to all aspects of customer engagement but primarily will be involved in developing regular analysis, reports and presentations relating to customer engagement. The Manager – Commercial Planning is expected to support in the development of Alternative revenue opportunities (non-containerized) and support building DP World Group Commercial Synergies by coordinating with DP Worlds logistics businesses and feeder companies. The Manager - Commercial Planning will over time have independent responsibilities with focus to drive global commercial planning outcomes relating to customer engagement with largest shipping line customers. The role will report to and support the General Manager - Commercial Planning in project execution of commercial initiatives. Key Accountabilities: Key Accountability related to Corporate engagement with Liner Customers: · The Commercial Planning Team is formed to allow CPPs of Tier 1 customers to effectively manage the relationship with carrier and free up CPPs from analytical and non-client facing tasks. · Specific Objectives · Support and follow up with CPP’s (to be appointed) · Objectively reviewing DPW performance per customer and identifying key opportunities and dialogues with CPP’s and carrier HQ’s · Assist in and following up on addressing carrier concerns and opportunities as relayed/identified by CPP’s · Regular and Ad hoc analysis and reports including carrier/DPW presentations · Understand networks of mainliners including changes and opportunities · Establish overall carrier strategies with CPP’s · Generate insights by working with large and complex datasets. Alternative revenue opportunities non-containerized: · Review innovative revenue solutions that have been successfully implemented by various BU’s. Enable knowledge-sharing across the rest of the business. · Specific Objectives · Analysis of local revenue generating ideas (chargeable value-add) – sharing best practice and pursue/follow-up · Pursue with BU’s a split CY charges between carriers and their customers to diversify income streams · Non-Container companies/business such as Breakbulk, Ro-Ro, Cruise, Bulkers, Commodity type traders. Project includes establishing separate CPP’s, identifying present and required expertise and analyse opportunities DP World International P&T Portfolio Analysis: · Specific Objectives · Analyse terminal utilizations and identify opportunities · Understand must wins per region/terminal and support for success · Budget support and analysis DP World Group Commercial Synergies : · Specific Objectives · Coordination of Coordination with logistic · Understand the BCO’s – help regions and work with carriers in creating win-wins by understanding the pain points of the customers of our customers · Asset base development and commercial support to local/region · Others · Participate in and manage physical events · Conscious use of media with commercial angles / environment General: - Team Player - Promote and demonstrate positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s values and culture - Ensure that the highest levels of safety are applied in all activities. - Understand and adhere to DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies - Perform any related duties as required Qualifications Experience & Skills: · Master’s degree level or equivalent in Business Management, · Minimum of 7 years Port/ Liner Industry Experience in a related commercial, marketing, operational or strategy role · This opportunity suits candidates who are used to working with vast amounts of quantitative and qualitative data and are able to articulate commercial responses, applying previously gained commercial understanding of container shipping /container ports and terminals. · Strong analytical skills, and a structured way of working · Excellent written and verbal skills in English · Strong focus on quality · Broad Geographic background · Commercial Planning or Key Account Management Experience
