Supply Chain Manager

Job Description : SCM UGANDA The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible and accountable for the cold chain logistics (Logistics + Cold storage), including distribution of fish & ice, cold storage / distribution centres, order – to – delivery, the refrigerated distribution fleet, ice and outbound customs requirements. The focus being to establish a best-in-class cold chain logistics operation, ensuring the smooth dispatch and delivery of products and services maintained under cold chain conditions throughout. KEY DUTIES: · Designs, implements and maintains efficiencies and fit-for-purpose controls whilst ensuring core Supply Chain policies, processes, systems and support services are relevant to business needs. · Identify hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Demonstrate awareness of safety practices through all areas. · Prepare and manage the cold chain logistics across tactical and strategic dimensions · Participate in the creation and development of cold chain logistics projects · Optimise effectiveness and efficiency of the cold chain whilst implementing policies and controls · Develop, control and manage fuel consumption and maintenance for fleet of distribution trucks. · Implement reporting, inventory control and management · Direct the activities of transportation operations REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE · Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration (preferred). · At least 10 years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations, which must include five year's supervisory experience. · Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles
