Senior Project and Operations Manager

Job Description : SENIOR MANAGER PROJECT AND OPERATIONS NIGERIA FOR DRI PLANT Qualification - Engineering graduate in Mechanical Experience level - 15 to 20 years in steel industry (sponge iron companies) Job Responsibilities · Responsible for production and production cost and control technics. · Implement quality goals in DRI processing. · Handle project requirements and comprehend to the target dates designed for DRI implementation. · Manage installation and commissioning. · Responsible for enhancing the Klin life by adhering to the standards operating processes. · Responsible for ensuring continuous supply of raw materials for operations. · Coordinate with the maintenance department and arrange preventive and shutdown maintenance of rotary kiln, jaw crusher, coal impactor, vibrating screen, magnetic separator, lobe compressor, screw compressor and wet scrapers. · Ensure compliance to the environmental standards and to keep pollution within stipulated norms. · Responsible for housekeeping in and around the DRI plant area. · Monitor and record process parameters and bring-in changes wherever necessary. · Generate MIS, daily production data, downtime and shutdown data. · Design and manage the shift and ensure deployment of resources. · Drive safety consciousness across the plant area and bring-in safety standards and ensure safety of men and materials. · Ensure compliance to quality targets. · Ensure monitoring, measuring and reporting the production related process performance and general issues. · Analyse problem solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems. · Working closely with shift supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective. · Ensuring that the training skills are met for current and future demand. · Competencies and Skills required: · Leadership · Critical thinking · People management · Time management · Communication skills · Management of material resources · Management of financial resources · Systems analysis and evaluation Minimum acceptable criteria: · Engineering graduate with overall 18-year experience in steel industry. · Minimum 8-year experience (recent) in DRI in production and operations. · Should have handled sponge iron project (min 1 cycle). · Competencies Leadership, Critical thinking, People management, Systems analysis and evaluation
