Job Description : CFO ETHIOPIA FROM TEXTILE INDUSTRY The incumbent will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance and accounting department for the Textile Group. The incumbent will also be responsible for procurement, budgeting, costing and reporting on organization's financial performance to the Chairman and the board Key Responsibilities 1. Preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports (P&L. BS, cash flow statements and funds flow statement as per IFRS standards with commentary at the beginning of the following month highlighting areas of budget variances, areas of improvement and workable solutions. Commentaries should reflect factors affecting performance and note changes in financial regulations and legislation. 2. To safe guard and optimize the utilization of the company's financial resources through the implementation of appropriate accounting systems that ensure accurate and timely production of financial information through efficient planning, monitoring and control. 3. Conducting review and evaluation of cost management systems that allow the company to track/allocate operational costs and track profitability. 4. To ensure Working Capital and Treasury is well managed so that the organization is able to fund its operations and meet financial obligations. 5. Monitor capital budgets of projects and investments. 6. Develop and maintain daily and weekly MIS dashboard (e.g. balanced scorecard) for risk assessments analysis and monitoring of key performance financial data for use by departmental heads and senior management. 7. Manage intercompany accounts ensuring different entity entries are reconciled on a monthly basis. 8. Appraisal of projects through financial modeling to confirm viability of projects. 9. Effectively communicate with Projects Engineer and Principals-in-charge regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals and any additional service related to billing 10. Prepare regular stage payments, final invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup for approval the Chairman 11. Ensure full compliance with all statutory matters, particularly with regards to tax (income tax, excise tax VAT, withholding tax etc) and payment of these within due dates to avoid penalties. 12. Review weekly time sheets, along with accounting group, work in progress, engineering stocks and projects evaluation status. 13. Ensure that interim audit is conducted by the end of September and annual accounts are audited within three months of the year end and generally liaise with the external auditors, tax consultants to ensure recommendations are implemented. 14. Develop, supervise and align the Finance and Accounts teams to be task, analytical and result oriented. 15. Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g. auditors, lawyers, bankers and statutory organizations. 16. Be the custodian of all company assets General Responsibilities 1. Monitor Accounts Payable, creditors, contractors, salaries and casual wages payments as well as proper accounting of accounts receivable by ensuring proper stocks and cash reconciliation. 2. Liaise with the IT Department to ensure financial data is backed up. 3. Liaise with procurement Department to ensure proper controls are implemented to monitor purchasing systems and integration to accounting systems. 4. Liaise with Legal and Insurance Department to develop proper monitoring system for analysis of insurance premiums and payment of claims. 5. Supervise the reconciliation of control accounts with the General Ledger on monthly basis. 6. Perform month and year end closing procedures for SAP - ERP system. 7. To check and sign all payments (cash/bank) vouchers before submitting them for final approval. 8. Keep stock control of cheques - payments and receipts and ensure registers are maintained properly. 9. Supervise prompt reporting of responses related to audit queries. 10. Oversee the implementation of appropriate policies and procedures in relation to the purchase of all goods and services. 11. Manage complex bid processes, requests for proposals, evaluation of returned proposals, selection of vendors, and award of contracts. 12. Review and authorize all purchase requisitions for the organization. 13. Liaise with the Board in negotiating contracts, pricing discounts, and pricing agreements with vendors with an emphasis on maximizing value. 14. Works directly with operations and engineering teams to ensure suppliers understand company requirements to deliver goods and services that comply with company and clients' specifications. 15. Any other responsibilities that may be delegated from time to time. Required Candidate profile Qualifications and Experience 1. Chartered Accounts with 10+ years of post qualification experience preferably in Textile industry 2. Good experience in costing and taxation. 3. Working capital management. 4. Sound knowledge of financial management and accounting procedures. 5. Proven analytical skills-ability to interpret or generate all types of financial data and financial reports, statements, and financial modeling and business plans. 6. Demonstrable leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
