Plant Manager

Job Description : PLANT MANAGER ANGOLA JOB/POSITION SUMMARY · Responsible for directing and coordinating the daily operations of the manufacturing plant. · Developing strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing costs. · Works directly with department heads to coordinate production, maintenance and logistics. · Responsible for upholding a safe work environment. · Duties include instituting policies and procedures, training managers, co-coordinators and administrators, maintaining a production schedule, giving performance reviews and motivating staff to meet production goals. PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS (Specific Accountabilities) · Establish and direct plant policies and procedures. · Work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability. · Work closely with the factory logistics team to ensure that all sales orders are dispatched and delivered in a timely and efficient manor to external customers. · Work closely with the factory logistics team, monitoring sales and stock reports of distribution department and dispatching and delivering finished goods as needed. · Plan and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment related to the plant (Main Process Machinery, Packaging Machinery, Generators, Compressors, Forklifts) · Work closely with RIA import and logistics team and factory logistics team to ensure raw materials are delivered to the plant efficiently and correctly as stated in the packing list. · Approves expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets. · Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all manufacturing employees. · Hires, trains, evaluates and discharges staff, and resolves personnel grievances. · Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality. · Maintain inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods stock and spare parts · Submit order requests for Spare parts to overseas purchasing office · Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity. · Communicate with Business Unit Manager as well as Factory Director to develop new product strategies. · Produce weekly production reports for Factory Director and overseas purchasing office to assist them in raw material planner forecasting and purchase orders. · Co-ordinate with all governmental agencies including Economic Police, Environmental Agency and Labor Unions. · Co-ordinate with RIA administration department to ensure collection and disposal of all factory waste. · Co-ordinate with RIA administration department to ensure 3rd party security company is providing adequate and appropriate security for the needs of the factory. · Support and maintain a superior safety and housekeeping program QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ACADEMIC AND PROFESIONAL QUALIFICATION: · Total of a minimum of 15 years of relevant academic and professional experience. · Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish Highly Desirable. English language desirable · BSc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar qualification RELATED EXPERIENCE: · More than 3 years experience as a production manager · At least 5 years experience in mayonnaise manufacturing · More than 10 years experience in manufacturing CORE COMPETENCIES & SKILLS SET · Adaptability · Communication and Inter-personal skills · Efficient delegation of tasks · Develop others · Team work and cooperation · Problem solving · Analytical and conceptual thinking · Self-management · Ability to learn new techniques and principles · Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions PROFICIENCY IN THESE OTHER BEHAVIORAL or TECHNICAL AREAS IS HIGHLY REQUIRED: · Leading a manufacturing and logistics team of more than 60 staff members · Ability to select, develop and motivate necessary management talent to maintain the company’s overall objectives. · Strong interpersonal skills such as leadership, communication, persuasion, motivation, loyalty, and openness. · Financial orientation, self-starting initiative, cross cultural awareness, organization wisdom and team spirit. · Ability to inspire, motivate and develop efficient practices of human capital. · Experience in internationally recognized, advanced modern mayonnaise manufacturing and packaging machinery
