Supply Chain/Demand Planning Manager

Job Description : SUPPLY/DEMAND PLANNING MANAGER NIGERIA a digital sales compnay looking to hire a supply planning manager. This is an exptriate role for those already living in Nigeria. The job holder is expected to ensure that the optimum and required inventory levels are maintained in order to meet or exceed demand. This involves working directly with the company’s supply and distributor units as well as vendors to improve and expand the company’s existing supply operations. Responsibilities SUPPLY PLANNING · Develop and maintain key reports used in forecasting process · Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve processes and systems · Identify and resolve supply exceptions by expediting purchase orders, re-allocating existing inventory and establishing safety stock parameters. · Liaise with merchant and logistics for any supply-related issues (e.g. quantity delivered, reformulation, pricing, delivery schedule, etc.) · ·Analyze inventory trends and make suggestions to prioritize expedite or push out open supplier POs. · Proactively partner with production and channel teams to report product and material availability issues. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT · Ensure and implement inventory control and finished goods inventory to prevent losses and/or shrinkages. · Conduct regular security checks to ensure inventory completeness. · Drive best inventory planning through process improvements and KPIs · Optimize inventory position and minimizing obsolescence. SALES AND OPERATIONS PLANNING · Actively participate in the coordination of cross-functional activities to ensure that supply of materials and finished goods (FG) in each location are sufficient based on the demand forecast · Utilization of a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts. · Coordinate activity across the sales, manufacturing and distribution network to ensure overall success in implementing plans · Provide support to Sales and Operations Planning process as the key resource for production and inventory data ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS · Timely and accurate submission of required reports Competency/Skill/Requirements · B.sc/ M.sc in a related field Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field required and preferably a MBA or a Master’s in a relevant field. · Not more than 10 years’ experience in a similar role (supply operations, supply chain or procurement) · 5+ years of work experience in a forecast, merchandise, capacity, or supply planning environment. · Experience with MRP, large scale ERP, or planning systems. · Highly proficient with MS Office, especially MS Excel and data visualization tools. · Must have an excellent understanding of the upstream and downstream supply chain process. · Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. · Ability to work cooperatively across multiple functions. · Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job.
