Job Description : CORPORATE FINANCE MANAGER KENYA 20-24 years experience Roles and Responsibilities The main purpose of this role is to plan, coordinate and control the Group finance and general accounts function including ensuring that all assets and liabilities of the Group are properly accounted for, reconciled and financial reports are properly consolidated in line with the Group policies and procedures. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Participate in the development and review of finance and administration policies, procedures and guidelines for the Group and ensure that finance activities are performed in line with these. 2. Analyse the Groups financial statements and submit report the same for management consumption. 3. Ensure timely preparation and distribution of the Groups financial and management accounting reports to the concerned stakeholders. 4. Ensure that the Group has up-to-date and standardised charts of accounts. 5. Oversee the preparation and/or review of financial analysis related to the cash flow projections, expenditures among other for appropriate action. 6. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards on matters related to finance and accounts. 7. Ensure that the Groups tax and other obligations are analysed and paid on a timely basis. 8. Manage and approve payments within discretionary limits to staff 9. Ensure the compliance with statutory deductions reporting and filing requirements. 10. Manage payments to external suppliers of goods and services. 11. Review and verification of fixed asset register for all subsidiaries 12. Answer all internal Audit queries for all Subsidiaries and assist subsidiary Finance manager to come up with proper internal controls 13. Oversee all Finance and accounting activities for all the new subsidiaries 14. Negotiating with banks for funding on any new investments made by the group and ensure that the group is able to secure the best funding rates in the market 15. Ensure that all regulatory renewals are paid to the relevant authorities in good time to avoid penalties for late payments 16. Identify, develop, deploy and retain talented staff including completing performance appraisals effectively and on time in accordance with the established performance management procedure 17. Develop accountability structures, oversee periodic reporting and monitor the performance indicators for Finance and Accounts unit. 18. Perform other related duties as emanates from the post, as and when assigned by the Supervisor. Desired Candidate Profile · Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business related discipline from a reputable university. · Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting or business related discipline from a reputable university would be an added advantage. · Professional qualification(s) e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA or the equivalent. · At least thirteen years’ experience in a similar role with at least five years in a senior management level. Competencies · Excellent understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) · Excellent grasp of Financial and Management Accounting; Taxation and relevant legislation. · Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior level leaders regarding key business priorities, issues and initiatives. · Knowledge of regulatory requirements and regulations related to the financial sector. · Sound knowledge of macroeconomic and microeconomic environment. · Project management skills. · Ability to lead, influence and drive change initiatives in support of business strategies within the department. · Strong leadership and skills to foster teamwork; develop and motivate staff, resolve conflicts as well as ability to provide direction, guidance, momentum and vision in order to achieve organizational objectives. · Demonstrated business acumen - able to create strategy and actions that impact business success. · Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to develop proposals, concept papers, position papers as well as write reports and prepare relevant publications. · High level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including ability to build alliances and collaborative relationships with sensitivity to diversity. · Strong expertise in strategic management project planning and budgeting, resource management, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation. · Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with people at all levels in the organization. · Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. · Analytical and creative thinking skills. · Strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
