Finance Manager

Job Description : FINANCE HEAD TANZANIA 10-15 years experience REPORTING TO: Regional Head Finance SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Head of Finance is responsible for the full financial function of the business operations in Tanzania. The position is based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The position forms part of the senior management team and provides key financial and business support to the Regional Head Finance in Nairobi. FUNCTION/DUTIES: Reporting to the Regional Head of Finance, functions and responsibilities, among others, include: General Financial Management: · Manage and develop local finance teams · Provide accurate, relevant financial information to the RHF/CEO · Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are performed monthly and reconciling items are cleared timeously · To manage operating expenditure within approved budgets · To manage capital expenditure within approved budgets · To maintain proper product costing systems and processes · Review the gross margins of all products on a monthly basis · Ensure all group deliverables are met within the given timelines Financial Planning and Reporting · Ensure group, regional and local reporting deadlines are met · Manage the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process and present these · Manage the preparation of the monthly management report and present the monthly results to the CEO, regional and group management · Preparation of quarterly reports and quarterly business reviews · Preparation and presentation of 5 year models Working Capital · Ensure all customers comply with the approved credit terms and limits · Manage stock levels to ensure adequate stock on hand for production ensuring not overstocked · Ongoing review of terms and pricing of local and foreign suppliers · Cashflow and foreign exchange management · Ensure all working capital indicators are within the approved budgets Governance and Compliance · Manage the annual audit and preparation and lodging of annual financial statements · Ensure all local tax legislation is complied with and all returns filed · Prepare and distribute the board packs for board meetings · Ensure compliance with the approvals framework · Manage the risk process · Ensure all other group reporting requirements are delivered on time · Ensure the risk and sustainability reports are prepared and submitted on time · Clear all open items that may arise on internal audit reports and the auditor report to management. Other: · Identify cost savings initiatives · Provide ad hoc support to other business units in SSA · Ensure adequate insurance exists for all assets in the business · Ensure compliance with software licensing QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: · CPA / Chartered Accountant · Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceuticals · Several years of general financial management experience at a senior level · Working in a multinational environment · Experience working with SAP · Previous work experience in Africa
