Chief Financial Officer

Job Description : CFO OMAN or a well-established and sizeable, large contracting business in Oman, with a workforce exceeding 10,000 employees. Your new role The Chief Financial Officer would be responsible to lead, the Finance & Treasury Unit of the company by developing financial plans and policies; defining accounting practices; building relationships with institutions, shareholders, and the financial community; directing treasury, budgeting, accounting, tax, risk insurance and management information service activities for the company to ensure that all finance and accounting requirements of the company are effectively managed. The role would also require the successful candidate to externally liaise with banks, government entities and auditors. Key Responsibilities: • Develop the financial strategy for the company based on treasury, accounting, regulatory and other statutory requirements to ensure that there is a clearly defined strategy for the department based on the business strategy. • Develop financial and accounting policies, systems, processes, and controls for the finance department; monitor deployment and adherence to ensure that there are clearly defined guidelines for financial and accounting policies, processes and systems. • Monitor compliance with federal and local financial legislation pertaining to financial reporting, filings, shareholding, raising of funds, accounting, insurance, taxation etc and monitor preparation of the required financial reports to be filed with the required government bodies/authorities to ensure that the company complies with all compliance requirements stipulated by the low. • Propose, develop and maintain financial policies & procedures align with International Financial Reporting Standards, legal requirements and global industry practice. • Manage the capital structure of the corporation by determining/forecasting Capex for the next 12 months, evaluate and make decisions on investment and funding alternative; mobilise the financial resources required to run the company; manage excess funds of the company; manage the companies risk exposure to ensure that the finances of the company are effectively managed. • Develop long-term relationships with financial institutions and banks • Responsible for Financial Risk Management and oversees the evaluation of project performance using various appropriate techniques • Review major operational controls / proposals, sub contracts, CAPEX decisions and submit recommendation from financial point of view in order to take appropriate decisions while negotiating proposals. • Coordinate, verify and approve upgrading of financial and management information systems to ensure systems are appropriate and functional to use for the company. • Liaise with Ministry of Finance, Muscat Security Markets and other government entities for Financial related queries, issues etc. • Liaise with the External Auditors regarding any request for information or documentation from the company. What you will need to succeed • 15 years+ of finance experience • Professional accounting qualifications, such as CPA, ACCA or CA is a must • Experience in the contracting industry is essential • At least 5 years’ experience as a CFO of sizeable entity • Proven strategic leadership skills • Experience in treasury / fundraising
