Continuous professional development (CPD) courses in mining technology, safety and management are advantageous. Professional Registration & Certifications ECSA Registration: Registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa is expected, reflecting formal recognition of engineering competence and experience. Mine Managers’ Certificate: A valid Government Certificate of Competency (Mine Manager’s Certificate) under the Mine Health and Safety Act is required for senior mining technical roles. Professional Memberships: Membership in SAIMM (Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) or similar bodies (e.g. SAIMM, AMRE) is highly desirable for professional networking and staying current with industry practices. Other registrations (e.g. SAMREC SAMVAL qualifications, SACNASP for geologists) are a plus. Experience Industry Tenure: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the South African mining sector (coal and/or hard-rock mining).

KEY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE 1. Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical/trade qualification/s. Additional qualifications in business will be advantageous 2. Strong preference for candidates with regional (multiple countries) sales experience and via a recognized Komatsu dealership 3. Ten+ years’ experience selling capital equipment into the mining industry (surface and/or underground) 4. Very familiar with mining-specific equipment (e.g., haul trucks, rotary drills, loaders, crushers, LHDs, bolters). 5. Prior exposure to large mining projects, tenders, and regulatory/compliance expectations for mine operations. 6. Bilingual English and Spanish speaking.
