ENGINEERING HEAD MALAYSIA This position offers the chance to lead and develop a high-performing engineering department. Lead and develop a high-performing maintenance and engineering department Drive maintenance strategies and oversee CAPEX projects Showcase your strategic thinking, leadership skills, and technical expertise As Head of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading the maintenance and engineering department. You will be accountable for managing workforce capacity in maintenance, including training initiatives, skill profiling, certification processes, as well as outsourcing decisions. Your role will involve contributing to PM support policy implementation while also ensuring systematic breakdowns, minor stops, and speed losses are effectively managed. You will be tasked with defining the maintenance strategy while also improving the planned and preventive maintenance system. Your responsibilities will extend to validating long-term (3YP) and medium-term (annual overhauls) maintenance master plans. Furthermore, you will co-define CAPEX projects within your department while also leading supplier/contractor management. Lead the maintenance and engineering department, ensuring optimal performance and technical development Manage workforce capacity in maintenance, including training, skill profiles, skill certificates and outsourcing Contribute to Preventive Maintenance policy implementation and handover project deliverables to the team Ensure systematic breakdown implementation, minor stops and speed loss Define and drive the maintenance strategy; improve and optimise the planned and preventive maintenance system Responsible for the maintenance RCFA process; define and train BDA, MSA (minor stops analysis), RCFA (5 why) methodology Validate long-term (3YP) and medium-term (annual overhauls) maintenance master plans Co-define and drive CAPEX projects within the department; lead supplier/contractor management Drive asset performance; manage, monitor and analyse maintenance costs; ensure warranty processes are followed The ideal candidate for the Head of Engineering role will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. You should hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or a similar field. With over 20 years of management experience in a technical/operational environment, you have a proven track record in people management. Your minimum of 5 years’ experience & knowledge of maintenance (engineering) operations from a strategic point of view enables you to setup and drive strategic improvement initiatives. Your ability to manage and control the 6 core work processes within maintenance is highly valued. Knowledge of TPM and RCM is essential, as is your ability to see the bigger picture in multi-year maintenance strategic development.
